Abrasive Paper

There are different types of abrasive paper:

3M Platinum abrasive are uniquely designed for platinum jewelries.

Emery Paper is used for smooth and glossy finish. For you to be able to achieve the smoothest finish you can use the high quality emery in which grains are bonded on flexible paper. It is also designed to remove scratches, dry polishing, or lapping gold, silver, brass and copper. Also used for light deburring and cleaning heavy stock.

Waterproof paper abrasives was used for more aggressive waterproof paper sheet sanding applications, jewelers use Durite Waterproof Paper.  Packed in protective dispensers to eliminate waste and permit easy, neat storage. Typical applications include intermediate and final sanding of jewelry. These sheets have Aluminum oxide grain electro-coated on flexible cloth backing. Out performs emery. Leaves a smooth even finish.

3M wet or Dry Polishing Paper provides excellent flexibility for finishing and polishing plastics, metal and coatings. Used by jewelers, these polishing papers are pliable, non-woven, lint free backing, coated with micron graded aluminum oxide and silicone carbide particles slurry coated onto a non-woven synthetic backing, the superior flexibility of this product allows for fast and easy finishing and polishing on to almost all contoured surfaces.

Metalite Cloth is ideal for general metal sanding, scouring, deburring, and removing rust. Aluminum oxide grain is close-coated on cloth backing for aggressive cutting action, long life and fine finishes. These sheets out performs emery and is used extensively for polishing, deburring of jewelry made of gold, silver, platinum and other metals.
